A Vision with a Heart

Hi and thank you for visiting our website.

When I established The Truly Loving Company in 2006 it was the realization of a vision that I had held for almost a decade. That vision was to set up a unique socially responsible business that uses a corporate profit model to develop, manufacture and market the TLC brand of Household and Personal Care products to caring consumers and thereby generate a regular, sustainable and long term source of income and funds for worthy charities.

The Truly Loving Company and its TLC range of Household and Personal Care products have been in the market for over four years now. Today our TLC products are available in retail supermarket chains such as Carrefour, Cold Storage, Giant, Jusco, Tesco, Village Grocer, 99 Speedmart and in many independent retail outlets. Our shelf merchandising has gained impact and our in store presence has improved substantially. We are indebted to our valued retailers for their tremendous support and assistance over the years.

And if you have not tried our quality TLC products, do pick one up when you next do your grocery shopping – TLC products are bench marked against the leading brands and we are no more expensive. Let your daily routine become an act of kindness!! 100% of TLC dividends are held in trust by HSBC (Malaysia) Trustee Bhd for our Charity Partners.

In July 2011, in addition to caring for the community, The Truly Loving Company extended our care to the environment with the launch of our TLC Green product range. These products are formulated with biodegradable and plant based ingredients that dissolve naturally. The good news is that they are priced at an affordable level to encourage everyone to care for the environment.

We have also gone beyond only writing cheques to our Charity Partners. We believe that in order to understand the plight of our Charities and their daily challenges, we must engage and interact with them. The TLC Promise Me campaign was launched in 2010 to inspire and motivate 70 youths from schools, colleges and universities to fulfill 70 individual wishes from 4 charitable homes, over a 90 days period. The youths had to blog their journeys on TLC’s campaign website to spread the campaign and inspire a larger community. TLC chose to work with youths because they are the future stakeholders of this country and by engaging them in social projects, TLC hopes to fuel their passion to create a better community and for Corporate Social Responsibility to become a way of life for them.

This year, TLC Promise Me Season 2 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, aims to bring together youths from 12 corporations/institutions to fulfill 12 Golden wishes from 12 charity organizations. Beneficiaries include Rumah Aman; Hospis Malaysia; National Stroke Association of Malaysia; Handicapped and Mentally Disabled Children Association (JB); Beyond Rehab (Malacca); The Befrienders; Selangor Cheshire Home; Montfort Boys Town; The National Cancer Society of Malaysia; Pusat Kebajikan Good Shepherd, St Nicholas Home (Penang) and Reachout.

The 12 Big Hearted corporations/institutions who have promised to fulfill the 12 Golden Wishes include Berjaya Cares Foundation, elc International School, Ernst & Young Malaysia, Fella Design, Giant Hypermarkets & Supermarkets, M Moser Associates, Magnum Corporation, Nuffnang, Steel Recon Industries, TA Enterprise Bhd, Tunku Abdul Rahman College and Wit Ink Creative.

Please follow their inspirational journeys on www.tlcpromiseme.com and do join in and participate in the ground events.

Winning the Prime Minister’s Corporate Social Responsibility Award for the Small Company Category in 2009 has helped to profile The Truly Loving Company and inspired us to work even harder to realize our Vision.

Remember there are no boundaries to doing charity, even if you do not speak the same language as the orphaned child, or the mentally challenged person may not be able to acknowledge your kindness, or the stroke survivor is someone much older and you have to learn to accommodate their disabilities. It all comes from the heart and together we can make that difference.

Be a TLC Supporter!

Yours Truly,
Julia Chong
